nice and simple

So this is how I would wear my American flag shorts during the day. Nice and simple :)

My white top was £1.50 in the H and M sale. It's also about 2 sizes too big, so I use it as my 'baggy' top. There is this one for £4.99, or a tighter one for £2.99 both H and M.

Again, my beautiful American shorts from Primark and my black tights are from Tesco.

Now, I'm wearing my flower ring as usual and my beads, but my necklace is new. I got it from my friend for my birthday, and I LOVE it :D It's from Avalaya, who have some gorgeous jewelery.

And that's it! Pop a black ribbon in your hair like a headband, and you're done! Nice and simple :)

Enjoy

greeeen :D

Now these, right here, are my favourite pair of shorts that I own, purely for the colour! So, by default, this is a favourite outfit of mine.
The shorts were £6 from Next Clearance, but you can get similar from Republic or Tesco. The Tesco ones aren't green but sooo cute, and really any colour will do! I also wore a thin brown belt, Tesco has these, but Primark always do pack from about £2.

I have my Primark tie front top and bandeau on again and the cardigan is vintage (from my mum's wardrobe :P) but you can get a similar one from River Island and they're always in vintage shops.

I kept my accersories simple with my flower ring and some peace earrings. Mine were from Claire's, but these from Avalaya are cute.

I wore my grey and yellow Converse and just twisted my fringe back :)

Enjoy

simple skinnies

This is actually most like what I wear everyday. A simple top and skinnies. I normally follow the rules of tight top, bootcut/flared jeans and tight bottoms, baggy top, which is what I've done here. I wore this to the Olympic torch cerimony where I live.

The top is a vest top from the pj section in Primark, (£2) as it has lace on the top. I think it's one of the products that's in all year round, as they always seem to be there, but H & M have this thicker strapped one, Next have this plain one, but most places have a vest top for under £4. Of course, you don't have to layer, I only did because the top was a little low.

The vest top over it was £1 in the Primark sale, but this Matalan tiger top is gorgeous! I might have to buy that... Also really like this Plume number. Any racer back/gym style top would work.

My jeans are my grey pair from Next Clearance, these are a simialr pair from Next, but a little pricey. This is a slightly cheaper pair from Missguided, but if you can, get to a Next Clearance!

Accessories wise I wore some plastic bangles I got a friends birthday party, and a band I got from one of the stalls at the cerimony. Again, I wore my flower ring nad leaf necklace, with some swirly earrings from Superdrug, but they don't have them on their website, so these from Accessorize are similar. The beaded braclet is my boyfriends, just look in any 'surfer' shop.

I wore my brown and pink hightop converse, which you can't get anymore, but any hightops will do. Clip your hair back with an oversized clip, like this one from Claires, smile and off you go!

Not sure what to call this one...

Went AWOL again.. sorry! Been moving back home from uni for the summer, but I have some looks for you. 1st up is the last one from when I went missing from the blogisphere last time :)
This is another Primark creation (I tell you, it's dangerous to live near one!) The top was £7 and I think you can still get them, but alternatives are.. Ark, which is really cute. There are a few on there actually, in different styles. Asos has this one for arm-concious. Bit more pricey, but tie fronts are quite popular right now, so shop around if you can.

I matched my skirt (£1 Primark sale :D ) to the centres of the flowers on the top, so I found some that would go with my suggestions. I'd go for either black or beige in this H and M one to go with the Asos top. The black will break up the lightness of the top and the beige isn't quite white if you want a lighter option. Any of the mini skirts on BooHoo would work with the Ark top, as long as it wasn't patterened and was a 'tube'.

Black tights are from Tesco. 6 pairs for £2 makes one happy shopper!

Accesories wise I had my Chamilia bracelet, my flower ring, a friendship necklace my sister gave me when I went to uni from Argos. It's really cute, with little fairys on, saying 'Fairy Best Friends' on the other side :) I've had the beaded bracelets for ages, just search kids jewelery sections. The leather flower bracelet was another gift, but this River Island friendship bracelet encompasses them all. Finally, my earrings were from a set (Primark again, £2), but if you're willing to spend a little more, Claire's have this set.

I wore my trusty black converse style shoes and clipped my hair back with a blue clasp. Claire's have these neutral ones that will go with anything.

And that's it! Happy shopping :)

(not really) american beauty

Next up is my Primark beauty! Didn't realise that it all came from there til I was ready to write this, but hey ho! I went out in this with my friends from uni.

The top is a simple cotton tie top, you can get one from boohoo.com. It ties a little higher than mine, but I like the pattern and the shirt style. An uneven hem, like this one from New Look, would work just as well. If it's a little see through, like mine was, put a bandeau like this one underneath. Most places do them in the 'basics' section.

The shorts are my beauts :) I saw them in Primarni aaages ago and never got them, so of course they sold out by the time i was going to get them. Long story short, I got them :P Missguided, TopShop,  ebay and boohoo all do their own versions, some in white (TopShop and boohoo) and some with just the pockets (boohoo and Joe Browns) Alternatively, you could get multicoloured ones (Bank) or Union Flag ones (boohoo)

My tights are a charcoal colour, to soften the shoe boots, and cos they didn't have black in my size :/ The Missguided tights page is beautiful and the TopShop one isn't bad either. If you're feeling flush, Pretty Polly (House of Holland) are amaaazing!

Now, my shoes were a whole £5 from a shop that was closing down. I LOOOOVE them!! Missguided have stud-less ones, and, if you are shorter, to lengthen your legs, go for open top ones like these gorgeous New Look courts.

I borrowed all my jewelery off a friend, but you can get a necklace, earrings, and ring all from claires. I added a variation by making them pearl, not crystal like mine were, but there are crystal ones on there!

Pile your hair in a messy bun on top of your head, smokey eyes, neutral lips and some fabulous eyelashes and you're good to go! It was warm and sunny when I wore this by the way. Definitely not a winter outfit!

magical maxi

Now, being ginger, maxi dresses are my best friend, because I am pasty and they cover up said pasty-ness. However, as a tall lass, I stuggle to find a good length, so I only have one. This one infact. But I loooove it!

I wore this to a meal out with some friends which was good, cos I felt good in it, but it doesn't have a lot of give. It's last season H and M, but has a really nice space-y pattern that seems to be in right now, and the back is a pannel of lace which is my favourite part. I have to go strapless, but smaller boobed girls could go braless.

This beauty has a similar neckline and has little stars all over it. A little bolder are this one, which has a really nice back, but would probably need a belt around to define your waist more, and this one, which, thanks to the elastic top, is for the small breasted amoungst us. All a little pricey, but buy one in the sale and wear it next year.. that's what I did!

Accessories wise, I wore my trusty leaf necklace, my flower ring and my Chamilia braclet as well as some chunky braclets in turquoise and purple I got from a market that came to York. I completely forgot to take a photo of my earrings, but I loooove them! They were from Covent Garden market 4 years ago now, and they are flowers with lots of bits coming off them. When I wear them again, I will take a picture :)

I love this braclet stack, it comes in brown or purple, very pretty, and these earrings will add colour to the grey maxi, but go well with all the other colours in the multi coloured ones!

Finally, my sandals are from Primark, £2.50. Can't go wrong with that now, can you?

Sorry for being a bit New Look central, but they do do some good stuff now and then!

Enjoy :)

Exam styleee

Sooo.. yesterday I had my final exam at uni (1st year complete woo!!). I was a bit nervous, so to keep me calm, I dressed up nice :D

It's a sort of boyish look, not sure how to describe it, but I gave it a girly twist by putting my hair into a doughnut (Pretty Pieces, £2.59, Claires Accessories, Primark).

The shirt is lace and see through, dark blue with a scallop edge. It was my mums in the 80's/90's so not available anymore, though there is this one from Laura Ashley where mine is from if you're not bothered about the lace. This one from H and M is a little less structured, or if you want a proper shirt, I like this one, it's a cute pattern and nicely cut.

I have a black vest top underneath (Primark, £2.50) to preserve my dignity, though I would wear it without one for a night out.

The jeans were from a Next Clearance store (beautiful beautiful bargins!!) a while ago, and got dyed slightly purple thanks to a jumper in the wash :/ but it's a nice colour! Dorothy Perkins have a nice pair, if you've gone for a light top though, go for darker jeans. New Look also do a nice pair.

My shoes are my babies. They are from Ark, (£9.99) and are mens, but I have big feet! You can get them anywhere though, and I also have a white pair to wear with dresses.

For acessories, I kept it simple. My braclet was an 18th Birthday pressie, from Chamilia, but you can get cheap immitations from Claires, Primark, New Look, anywhere really. If you're ridiculous rich, get a Pandora. My necklace was a present from my granny, but any necklace with a short chain would work. Wear it underneath the collar. My ring was another 18th pressie from my other granny, I wear it everyday. This one from Tesco is pretty. Finally, my earrings were in a set of 9 for £2 from Primark.

Whack on a dark grey blazer if it's chilly and go go go :P

Enjoy!

Running around :)

Went to the gym today, not normally a place to look anything other than sweaty, but I quite liked this combination.

It's what I normally wear to the gym, really easy to mix and match.

So we have black crop top (£9.95,Dance Direct). If you need more support, go for a sports bra that looks like a crop top (shock absorber and freya active are my choices).

A plain vest top. I got mine from Sports Direct years ago, but you can get some nice ones now for £5.00, like this one. Really versitile and interchangable, I have a few in different colours.

Patterened shorts, £3, Primark. You can get other colours, including a really cute turquoise pair with palm trees on.

Black leggings, £3, Primark. Best to get a size or two bigger, as they make them quite small.

Black trainers. The reason I have black is so I can wear them for work and so they'll go with lots of things. The pink stripe was my indulgence :P £26, Sports Direct. Make sure you get training ones for the gym, running ones have a different sole.

And an armband for my iPod. This is new, and the 1st time I've used it. This one has an awkward headphone slot, but there are loads on amazon.co.uk.

Roll up your leggings or get 3/4 ones and wear trainer socks, minimal or no make-up (you're going to sweat it all off anyways) and off you go!

Have fun :)

hello my darlings..

mee :)
Hello

This is a little project of mine. I have noticed that there are LOOOOAAADS of fashion blogs, well, everywhere..

Now, I don't profess to know much about fashion, but I'd like to try my hand at it. I don't dress up every single day, and most of my clothes are from the sales, so I'm not really 'high fashion'.

So I have a plan. If I like what I'm wearing, I will post it, and try to find either the exact thing, or if it's a little old, something like. If that makes sense..

So, everyday, nighttime, going out.. all looks included!

I'm not afraid of wearing something that didn't cost alot (bargain hunting is beautiful), and of mixing and matching. I'm size 10, 'curvy', 5ft 9in, long legged, short armed, long bodied, wide shouldered and ginger, though most things I wear can work for most people :)

Hope you enjoy!
